Bags: Inside Out - now until sunday 16 january

The V&A is always number one on my radar of places to wander at leisure in London.  And I am thrilled it has re-opened with some brilliant new exhibitions.

Bags: Inside Out offers us a glimpse of some of the best historical examples of our ultimate accessory (apart from jewellery, of course…). This exhibition celebrates the functionality of bags, as well as the incredible artistry and craftsmanship they have inspired throughout the generations.  You can take a look at every aspect of their history; the beauty of utility, symbolic shapes and emblems denoting status and authority, right down to the absurd display of wealth of some more modern examples….

With all these on offer AND the most beautiful Victorian tiled Museum café in all the land (a work of art in itself!)… got to be worth a visit…
