alphonse mucha, flowers, moons & stars

Born in a small town in Moravia (now part of the Czech Republic), Alphonse Mucha became synonymous with Art Nouveau, producing work that featured women in diaphanous flowing robes, often surrounded by flowers, stars, moons and other swirling decorative motifs. He was a gifted painter, illustrator and graphic artist but became best known for his stylized and theatrical posters which largely defined a glamorous era. However we think his portrait work has a unique and timeless power of it’s own.
